July is UV Safety Awareness Month; Our Window Tint Can Help You Celebrate

Summer is packed with fun activities and a lot more time outdoors!  While we all love catching more rays during the summer months, it’s important to keep yourself safe and protect your eyes and skin!  July is UV Safety Awareness Month, let American European Auto Repair help you celebrate and beat the UV rays with Sarasota window tinting.

Sarasota Window Tinting

UV rays are the ultraviolet radiation emitted by the sun.  We are always exposed to UV rays outdoors, but they are strongest during the summer months and thus more dangerous.  They are broken down into three types: U.V.A, U.V.B, and U.V.C. rays.  We’re protected from U.V.C. light by the ozone layer, but U.V.A. and U.V.B. light can pass right through it.  The radiation can cause wrinkles and sunburns, but even more seriously is often the culprit of skin cancer, cataracts, cornea damage, and even vision loss.

A great way to enjoy summer and cool down is taking a trip to the water.  Driving to a beach, lake, or pool is a fun activity for the entire family, and you don’t always consider the UV rays reaching you during your journey.  In addition to applying sunscreen and wearing protective clothing and hats, darker windows in your vehicle will keep you safe as you’re heading to and from your destination.

The time of day when the sun is most damaging is between 10 AM and 4 PM.  If possible, make sure to spend as much of that time indoors or in the shade.  Cloudy weather alone is not enough to keep your eyes and skin safe!  Many people believe that if it’s cloudy they aren’t getting as much sun, but you’re just as exposed as when the sky is clear.  UV rays can also reflect off sand, water, cement, and even snow.  So, keep in mind that no matter the time of year you’re facing exposure.  Don’t let your fun in the sun during summer cause significant damage that could easily be avoided.

Not only does our tinting help to protect you from UV rays while you’re traveling, but it also improves the appearance and style of your vehicle, enhances privacy, reduces glare, and lowers the temperature inside your car.  We have many different tint colors and styles to choose from to suit your exact needs and aesthetic.  When you’re ready to get started give American European Auto Repair a call at (941) 925-8863.  We are conveniently located at 2321 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota, Florida.
